EvenLED for Oliver

February 11, 2009

A brand new production of Oliver! One of Britain’s best loved Musicals in London’s West End opens this December for previews. Cameron Mackintosh presents his triumphant new staging of Lionel Bart’s masterpiece Oliver! at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, which was last seen at the Palladium in 1994.

The new production at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane promises to be even more spectacular than ever before, starring Rowan Atkinson as Fagin, a cast and orchestra of over one hundred and an exciting new Nancy and Oliver (winners of BBC One’s I’d Do Anything). Rupert Goold (Best Director, 2008 Olivier Awards) along with Tony Award winning director and choreographer Matthew Bourne, will be using every inch of London’s greatest musical stage with sensational sets by Anthony Ward.

Stage Electrics has been awarded a contract to supply all production lighting and media server equipment. Stage Electrics has made a significant investment in Martin Professional’s EvenLED, purchasing 140 panels of the latest 16 bit version. Each panel of the colour mixing LED product measures 1 metre square and is fully DMX controlled. Also used on the set is the MAC 2000 series.

Paule Constable, is the Lighting Designer for the show. She is assisted by Beky Stoddart and Nick Simmons who programmed the show.

Paule won the 2005 and 2006 Laurence Olivier Award for Best Lighting Design, she was also a nominee for four further productions and for a 2007 Tony Award on Broadway. The show is fitting up at present under production electrician Gerry Amies.
