Alice Cooper performing under a MAC rig

October 09, 2000

Alice Cooper must be seen to be appreciated, with elaborate stage sets and outlandish costumes and antics the norm for his stage shows.

His “Brutal Planet” tour is no exception. Alice Cooper has always incorporated a blend of high tech stage mechanics with theatrics into his performances and lighting has always played an important role. Now he has graduated to the realm of intelligent lighting.

The tour, which began in August, features the use of 16 MAC 500 profile spots supplied by Bandit Lites, Inc. Twelve of the MACs are placed in the rig with the remaining four placed on stage. Bandit Lites is working with Mick Thornton, who conceptualized the design and direction of the tour.

The tour ends appropriately enough on Halloween in New York City.
