Mach Speakers and a 'Stream of Praise'

October 20, 2000

Mach speakers were the highlight sound system used by Shalom AV in Hong Kong and received a stream of praise of their own.

The Mach system consisted of 8 MS1262 (main L/R), 8 MS118 (main sub), 2 M156R (front fill) and 4 M128R (for side audience). An Altair Mosfet amplifier drove all main speakers. A total of 24800 Watts RMS of amplifier were used to serve the Mach speakers.

Rossini Lo from Shalom AV had this to say about the Mach speaker system. “Lots of music information from every instrument is clearly blended together. As the band and vocals are good quality the sound is punch and detail. In the stadium, the power and bass/kick area are strong with detail, allowing lots of freedom to adjust the music balance between every song. I think the narrow and precise angle of the Mach SlingShot, worked well even though there were many open microphones together. Even low volume instruments like chimes gave a lot of detail and enough SPL to lead those songs.”

Rossini continues, “With this gig I could pay more attention to the music balance and communicate better with musicians on how to make quality music. I didn’t need lots of adjustment and EQs to the house speaker except to the standing wave of the room. The throw from the Mach MS1262’s is clear and accurate to the top of the stadium audience, which I guess is a distance of about 170 feet.
