Massive Mach Installation creates Powerhouse at 051 Club

This popular and well-established club has been located at Mount Pleasant, in the heart of Liverpool, for nearly seven years. Situated below street level, the venue has a spacious warehouse feel and can accommodate up to 1200 people. With a sunken dance floor, video walls and a large stage for live bands, the club can also create spectacular effects with its own snow machine, and stunning pyrotechnics.

The club´s formidable and fully automated sound system is a combination of the Mach SlingShot and Installation series, and comprises an impressive 12 Mach MS1262 mid/high boxes, 24 Mach MS118i bass/subwoofers, 20 Mach M154i medium throw top boxes and 4 Mach M82i near field top boxes.

The Mach Slingshot
The MS1262 and MS118i models make up Mach´s highly advanced SlingShot system. The result of more than three years of R & D, the Slingshot sets new quality standards for high level sound reinforcement.

The MS1262 is an active three-way long throw loudspeaker, which has been developed to deliver a remarkably clean, neutral and open sound. The accompanying MS118i is built around an extremely powerful and efficient woofer designed specifically to provide strong and accurate bass frequencies with minimal distortion. The combined result is a highly compact speaker system with unsurpassed sound quality at very high sound pressure levels.

The Mach Installation Series
The M154i and M82i are part of the Mach Installation Series, designed especially for short to mid-throw installations such as discotheques. The M154i is a medium throw top box with a 90 x 40 degree dispersion, whilst the M82i is a near field top box with 150 x 150 degree dispersion. Both models feature a 15-degree trapezoidal shaped cabinet, which facilitates easy design of clusters and arrays. Clarity and a minimum of cabinet resonance are ensured by the Mach Installation Series’ signature black anodized interlocking aluminum profiles.

The advantages of utilizing a dedicated top-box over a full range box include higher sensitivity, higher power handling and very compact size. Mark Simon, the 051 Club Promoter, summed up the power of the Mach, “It´s a banging clear new sound system for the millennium.”
