|M2PC is the complementary control surface to Martin’s M-PC V3 controller software. Featuring the same layout and portable size as the M2GO, the M2PC delivers a professional level of features directly from any PC. Following the philosophy and simplicity of our current controller platform, such as the Martin M1, the Martin M2PC is one of the most powerful and affordable PC-based lighting controllers on the market.|
Affordable yet powerful
The M2PC connects to M-PC software on a current Windows Operating System. It can run up to 64 universes with the proper software license. As standard the M2PC comes with a 4 DMX universe license. Separate license to increase the number of universes are available at relatively low costs. The M2PC is the result of listening to and understanding customer needs and has been developed with cost, ergonomics, feature set, size and weight in mind. The result is an attractive looking lighting wing console with a lot to offer.
Ease of use
The surface is clean and easy to navigate with fewer buttons and options to overwhelm the user. The M2PC avoids sub-menus, hidden functions, multi-functions per button, shift keys and other counterproductive methods used on other lighting consoles. Through the connected computer screen, the M2PC displays all needed information through a series of contextual windows. No longer must the user remember complex key combinations or where this or that function is hidden. The user interface of the M-PC software has been design to take the most out of touchscreen technology. With the current trend on PC development many desktop and laptop are now coming with touchscreen making the use of M-PC a charm.
Employing skilled industrial designers, as well as gathering feedback from several console operators, the Martin M2PC design shows remarkable ergonomic qualities. Transport of the M2PC for example was one of the main considerations. Because it is light weight, it can be easily transported under one arm and is light enough to be checked in as luggage at the airport in a standard suitcase.
The M2PC comes standard with 2 physical DMX ports and a 4 universes software license. It is possible to add 2 more physical onboard with the purchase of P/N 90703030. It is also possible to increase up to 64 the total number of DMX universes the M2PC can generate with additional “2 Universes Expansion pack” P/N 39808031. Each expansion pack will unlock 2 more universes. Another economical way to expand the universes count is by using an M-PC One-Key dongle, for example, adding a M-PC Basic dongle to the system will increase the universes to 12 and an M-PC Pro dongle will bring this to a staggering 64 DMX universes! Connecting any MaxModule to the M2PC will also enable two additional universes or use the Ether2DMX8 to enable eight additional possible universes per Ether2DMX8.
Physical DMX connections to the M2PC can be either done with standard Artnet devices such as the Ether2DMX8 or using the Martin USB DUO DMX box P/N 90703010.
The Button, Playback and Submaster MaxModules can be connected to an M2PC to give even more direct access to playback, fixture selection, groups, presets, etc. It is up to the user to select the most efficient playback surface for their show.
In addition to the MaxRemote application, M2PC supports the OSC protocol. Using the iPhone/iPad TouchOSC application, it is possible to control virtually any function of the M2PC remotely. Finally, there is the Mx Manager which offers Internet, Serial and Telnet remote options as well as scheduled operation via calendar and time-of-day rules.
Networking and tracking backup
The M2PC software is a no-nonsense design. Simple windows and menus are all designed to be used with a touchscreen or mouse, and access to anything is rarely more than one or two clicks away.
