Martin’s Maxxyz lighting console continued its rise to the top of the lighting control market by winning the Lighting Product of the Year – Lighting/Entertainment award at the recently completed LDI exhibition in Orlando.

Held in recognition of “products that push the envelope and bring technology to the next level,” the award was presented at a special ceremony after the show on Saturday, November 22.

On hand from Martin’s lighting control segment were Lighting Controller Product Manager Christian Krause; Martin US Control Products Segment Manager Michael Nevitt; and Marc Colemont, a chief engineer from R&D International, lead developers of the console. Christian Krause commented, ”It’s great to be recognized by the industry for the hard work we’ve put into this project the past couple of years. A lot of people have put in an awful lot of time to make the Maxxyz an extraordinary console.

“This award is not only a validation of the decision we made to design and build the market’s most intuitive lighting console but confirms that we have done it right. By including lighting programmers in the development process and by conducting a thorough beta test program, we have produced a console reflective of market needs and of the programmers themselves. Credit should go out to those beta test programmers as well as the entire Maxxyz R&D team.”

In 2003 Maxxyz’s popularity soared as reality bore out the hype surrounding the console on a string of shows and high profile events worldwide including several Sting concerts, The Tonight Show Starring Jay Leno, Disney/Pixar’s Monsters, Inc. On Ice, Radio 1 shows in the UK, Super Furry Animals tour, and many more.

Maxxyz is the most advanced stage lighting console on the market today thanks to an intuitive design and a string of highly original features, among them customizable LCD buttons for tailored programming, a built-in 3D Visualizer with real-time PREVIEW mode, full multimedia capability, and much more.
