Described as "a great engineering achievement,” Martin Professional’s Exterior 1200 Image Projector was named the winner in the External Luminaires category at the 2009 Lighting Design Awards.
Presented at a gala event at the London Hilton, Park Lane on March 12th, the Lighting Design Awards are billed as the ‘biggest and most prestigious architectural lighting competition in the world’ and widely recognized as a stamp of excellence within the lighting industry.
On hand to accept the award on behalf of Martin Professional were UK Managing Director Tony Browne, and Adam Frost, Technical Sales Consultant at Martin UK. “To be recognized for excellence in the field of architectural lighting is a great achievement, but really all the hard work was done by the technical and R&D staff based in Denmark,” Browne commented. “We are very proud to have been recognized amongst such strong and worthy competition.”
Frost added, “It was a fantastic event, and to win an award was just the icing on the cake. The Exterior 1200 IP is a fantastic product and is fully deserving of the recognition it has been given.”
This year’s Awards attracted a record number of entries which were judged on a technical, conceptual and aesthetic basis. The Martin Exterior 1200 Image Projector is a unique 1200 W full color mixing luminaire designed for projecting animated images and effects to create truly dynamic architecture. Its specification is unmatched in the outdoor architectural luminaire market.
The Lighting Design Awards are organized by UK-based Lighting magazine and the Institution of Lighting Engineers with support from the Lighting Industry Federation. The Award’s are an annual celebration of the industry’s best, providing designers, architects, engineers and manufacturers the opportunity to attain the highest recognition for their skills.
