Singapore’s dbl O Club attracting city’s finest

February 07, 2001

Singapore’s latest night club, dbl O (pronounced Double O), is a slick and modern dance club conceived for the over 20s who appreciate an abundance of dancing space, the feel of a happening, sophisticated club and a Martin Professional light show.

With an express goal of targeting the crème de la crème of Singapore clubsters, dbl O is loaded with conveniences such as a three bar set-up to serve the crowd and a stage area that doubles as a cozy corner with comfortable lounge seating.

The large dance floor features a 10-meter high ceiling with a Martin rig that includes 6 RoboScan 918s, 2 MAC 600s, 4 MiniMACs and several more conventional lights. A Jem ZR 33 Hi-Mass provides the atmospheric smoke effects. Lighting control comes from a Martin LightJockey controller (club version) and Martin 2518 DMX controller. Lighting programmer cum light jockey for the new dance club is David Tay.

The fashionable club also features a unique, customized wall of lights that change to suit the mood and occasion. dbl O hosts upcoming as well as more established DJs from Asia & Europe with a DJ console that is situated in full view of the room.

Dbl O also bills itself as a multi-purpose venue with sliding walls that can be opened, redirected or closed to suit different requirements for product launches, theatrical plays, cocktail parties, conferences and exhibitions
