Some customers using the Hydra system have experienced problems when running the machine on ZR (Pro Smoke Super) fluid. Guidelines in the user manual indicate that the correct temperature setting is 'Hi' for this fluid, but while this setting is ok to use, it can lead to spitting from the heads when running short bursts of fog that do not significantly cool the heat exchangers. Users who experience this problem should use the 'nor' setting (on the HOT menu) to reduce the operating temperature by 20 degrees. This will ensure that short cycles do not result in excessive spitting.
It is important to stress that the hi and normal settings are both ok to use and neither will cause damage to the machine when using ZR fluid, although the 'normal' setting is more suitable for venues where lower output levels of smoke are required.
