Something to Celebrate

September 23, 2008

Celebration Church in Jacksonville, Florida, is known for having it all. Each week, thousands of visitors participate in three main and two simulcast annex worship services. In addition to regular weekend ministries, Celebration Church hosts midweek services and special events in the form of concerts, CD releases and conferences.

This is certainly no small church.

In fact, Celebration Church welcomes over 6000 parishioners each week for praise and worship amidst Martin’s MAC 2000™, MAC 550™, MAC 250™, Mania SCX 700™ and Mania EF2™. For that extra effect, Martin’s JEM ZR24/7 Hazer™ generates just enough smoke on demand to float the crowd and band. Behind the scenes and operating Martin’s LightJockey are Lighting Designers, Trey Smith and Nathan Johnson. Their ability and knowledge of design effect help to make the worship experience for church goers even more memorable.

“Our first impression of these fixtures was that they were amazing,” said Smith. “How they could pack so much punch into such a small package.”

The aesthetic aspect of the fixtures chosen to light the church is only reason for being chosen among other brands. Return on investment is another.

“We chose Martin’s products due to their durability and performance for extended periods of time,” said Smith. “Maintenance on Martin fixtures is minimal, which is crucial in our church.”

Known for their durability and strong temperament, Martin products provide years of high level functioning and excellence reflected in factors such as reduced operation and maintenance costs. Second-to-none durability make Martin perfect for hours upon hours of rehearsals and weekly events like the ones hosted by Celebration Church.

“Martin fixtures bring an amazing atmosphere to our sanctuaries,” continues Smith. “Our main sanctuary uses two MAC 2000, four MAC 550, eight MAC 250 and a JEM ZR24/7 Hazer. Our Annex houses four Mania SCX 700 and LightJockey 2. Our Kids’ Ministry uses LightJockey as well, along with Mania 700’s and the EF2. Lastly, our St. John’s campus is outfitted with the Mania SCX 700 and LightJockey 2.”

For a church with so much activity, Martin is the obvious choice. While the MAC line is renowned for its high performance and LightJockey 2 is a user-friendly, Windows-based controller that has become a fast favorite in the HOW market.

“Martin fixtures bring an amazing atmosphere to our sanctuaries,” adds Smith. “Weekend after weekend, they perform at top quality. We are building a new facility nearby that will seat 4000, and we will definitely be using Martin there as well.”
