For moving heads, it is not obvious which side of the fixture is the front and which is the back. This can be a problem when using controllers and programs that graphically show the fixtures´ orientation. To make identification easier, Martin will soon be placing an arrow pointing to the front on the base plate of the MAC 500, MAC 600, and MAC 1200. For existing units, we recommend placing arrow stickers on the base.

On the MAC 1200, the front is the side with the display. This definition will be implemented in the CASE controller and Martin ShowDesigner to ease programming and lighting design.

When using the Martin Lighting Director, the front of the moving head must point towards the stage. Otherwise, the head may reach the mechanical stop and have to turn 360 degrees to continue tracking the performer.
