In response to some questions we are occasionally asked about distributing the DVI signal in LC Video Panel installations, here is some advice.

Martin DVI Splitters (distribution amplifiers) are not designed to power multiple DVI-to-fiber converters, and the amount of power available for external devices is limited. This means that you need to use 'self powered' devices.

DVI over fiber links will not pass the control signals between the DVI Buffer Box and LC Video Panels. If you need to use a DVI over fiber link, position it between the source (media server) and the DVI Buffer Box.

DVI over CAT5 solutions may work in some cases, but Martin cannot guarantee the end result. In some cases DVI over CAT5 has proven to be sensitive to wireless communication signals.
