To lower mechanical stress on the drive belts, we are changing the Exterior 600 effect speed setting from "Fast" to "Safe" mode on new products before they leave the factory. The difference between the two modes is that "Safe" has slightly slower acceleration and deceleration of the effect wheels. Top speed is the same in both "Fast" and "Safe" modes.
This change has been implemented on products from serial number 403920-6059 onwards.
To optimize service life on Exterior 600 drive belts, we recommend setting all fixtures in existing installations to "Safe" mode using an MP-2 or MUM/DABS1 device. See the section: "Defining fixture settings using MUM" in the Exterior 600 user manual for details of changing effect speed settings.
