The original model of the LightJockey USB interface, which was included with LightJockeys prior to S/N 4258570001, can have trouble being detected on Windows computers with USB 2.0 ports. When the Lightjockey interface is connected to the PC, Windows may not detect the new hardware.

If the interface is not detected when you install it, or if it only works part of the time, the problem is likely related to a power saving feature that puts the USB 2.0 root hub in a suspended state. You can disable the USB power saving feature in Windows 2000 and XP as follows:

  • From your desktop, right-click My Computer
  • Select "Properties" > "Hardware" > "Device Manager"
  • Under "Universal Serial Bus controllers", right-click "USB 2.0 Root HUB".
  • Select "Properties" > "Power Management"
  • Disable the power saving feature ("Allow computer to turn off this device...")

There are currently no known device recognition problems with either model II of the LightJockey, or with USB 1.1. If you experience any difficulty with either of these, please contact your national Martin distributor.
