There has been some confusion about the function of the PCB jumper, PL13, labeled "Write Protection" on the PCB for the MAC 2000 Performance and Wash. When the Write Protection jumper is in the "Disable" position, the CPU memory is write-protected and software cannot be updated. The default position is "Enable", which allows the memory to be overwritten with new software.

The jumper will be identified as "Write" on the next revision of the PCB label. The function of the "Enable" and "Disable" positions will remain the same.
