For an unknown period of time prior to March, 2002, LightJockey USB interfaces were apparently shipped in an uninitialized state that can cause them to transmit ’garbage’ DMX signals when the interface first receives power and after LightJockey closes down. (The DMX stream is normal while the interface is communicating with the Lightjockey software.)

The garbage DMX stream typically looks like a chase on channels 1 and 2. An application called "ClearUSB" is available to initialize the USB interface memory and solve this problem. Note that some interfaces may have their memory hardware protected. To clear protected memory, the interface must be opened and a jumper moved to a different position. The jumper settings are documented within the application.

To install and run, first download ClearUSB.Zip (~ 200 Kb) from http://www.martin.com/service/Software/Logs/LightJockey_sw.htm. Unzip and copy the executable (ClearUSB.exe) into a LightJockey main folder and run it from there.
