smartMAC™ Provides “Production Value” for Pair of Scottsdale, Arizona Events

Living Energy Events and Productions of Scottsdale, Arizona jumped at the opportunity to upgrade its inventory with new Martin Professional smartMAC™ luminaires at the end of 2007.

“With their impressive lumens per watt, ability to easily swap gobos and colors, and their relatively low required cleaning, the fixtures were an ideal fit for us,” says Rick Benton, president of Living Energy, a mobile production company that provides entertainment and lighting for corporate and social events.

"The new smartMACs allow us to provide our clients with tremendous creative effects,” Rick stated. "Each one of our 2008 clients has been amazed at the production value we brought them."

Two of Living Energy’s recent events included a high school dance and Bar Mitzvah, some of the first events in the US utilizing the smartMAC.

The smartMAC is a bright 150 W moving head profile luminaire that offers superior reliability, long service intervals, total silence and reduced power bills thanks to a unique fanless cooling system (no dust and pollutants are forced into the fixture). Extremely bright, the smartMAC houses eight interchangeable dichroic colors and six interchangeable effects.

Rick describes the smartMAC as “Incredibly smooth, with great optics, and brighter than anything in its category.”

The high school dance was a 500-600 student event held in the courtyard of Scottsdale’s Horizon High School in March; the Bar Mitzvah was a 200 person event held at Scottsdale’s Troon North Four Seasons Resort ballroom in February. The smartMACs were supplied by Centerstage Lighting and Sound of Kentucky. Living Energy handled lighting design and programming duties for both events.

Other equipment suppliers included Advanced Lighting Systems (Minnesota) for the fiber optic curtain; Advanced Lighting and Sound (Michigan) for the DJ systems; and Chris Harshfield from Platinum Lighting (Tempe, AZ) for production support.
