1999 Comic Relief - MACs in action at the BBC

The moving lighting rig used on the TV set for the live broadcast of the Comic Relief show consisted of a hundred and twenty eight Martin lights, supplied by Richard Martin Lighting.

Lighting Designer, Mark Kenyon, chairman of STLD (Society of Television Lighting Designers) working with lighting operators Roger Williams and Will Charles, specified 26 MAC 600s and 24 MAC 500s on the hanging rig along with 12 MAC 500s, 20 MAC 600s and 46 Pro 400s for the floor rig.

Raising over £17 million for good causes and charitable projects both in the UK and Africa, Comic Relief featured special editions of many of the BBC´s top TV programs on the theme of Record Breakers.

Shows included Doctor Who, Men Behaving Badly, the Vicar of Dibley, and Have I Got the Buzzcocks All Over, a classic mixture of Never Mind the Buzzcocks, They Think its All Over and Have I Got News for You.
