Bandit Lites and Jason Robinson Shed Light on the Dove Awards

July 04, 2002

The 33rd annual Dove Awards were held on April 25th, 2002 in Nashville, Tennessee at the Grand Ole Opry. The premier awards show for the gospel and christian music industry, presenters and performers from all facets of this genre of music were illuminated by a lighting system designed by Jason Robinson and supplied by Bandit Lites.

The lighting system was based on a moving light package from Martin and
included 22 MAC 2000s, 64 MAC 500s, 72 MAC 600s, 34 MAC 250s and 16 Atomic strobes. Jason also used a wide range of conventionals.

The asymmetrical lighting system had to provide all the dynamic effects of a
concert touring system while delivering elegant lighting on presenters and award recipients for the live television broadcast.

Jason Robinson is no stranger to lighting for high profile television. He lights
six hours of live television every week for the World Wrestling Federation.
Jason’s body of work includes work for ESPN, MTV, HBO and President George
W. Bush’s salute to Gospel music from the White House in February.
