Bandit Lites and Martin Again and Again
May 05, 2003
While Martin is proud to have products featured on newer acts like Pearl Jam, Counting Crows and the Dixie Chicks, we are also very proud to be on the road with some of the more classic pop and rock 'n roll artists like Jimmy Buffet, Brooks & Dunn, Jackson Browne and the Moody Blues.
Jimmy Buffett
Everybody’s favorite Son of a Son of a Sailor, Jimmy Buffett, will be out on his “Tiki Time Tour” through the summer with set and lighting design by Sid Strong. Strong, who is masterful at using the lighting to involve the audience, has created a design that mimics the Caribbean feeling and sound that Buffett is famous for. Bandit Lites is supplying 32 MAC 2000, 7 MAC 2000 Wash, 3 MAC 2000 Performance, 28 MAC 600 and 7 MAC 500 for the tour.
Brooks & Dunn
Popular country duo, Brooks & Dunn, just keep on going. With a career that spans over a decade, the Grammy winning group known for hits like “Boot Scootin’ Boogie” and “My Maria,” brings the excitement of the Neon Circus back to the stage. Lighting Designer Larry Boster has specified 18 MAC 2000, 30 MAC 600, 10 MAC 500 and 9 MAC 300 for a stage show that combines a traditional concert with circus-like performances. Bandit Lites is supplying all lighting for the tour, which includes a busy schedule of dates through the summer.
Jackson Browne
Veteran performer Jackson Browne, best known for hits like “Running on Empty” and “The Pretender, is touring in support of his latest album “The Naked Ride Home.” Lighting Designer Dave Davidian’s spec includes 7 MAC 2000 and 8 MAC 500 supplied by Bandit Lites UK. Browne will tour Europe and Japan through the spring before heading home to the US for a string of summer dates.
Moody Blues
The originators of the orchestral rock genre, The Moody Blues, have been a driving force in rock and roll for nearly four decades. Veteran Lighting Designer Mick Thornton was tasked with creating an atmosphere to highlight the music of this group of visionary musicians. He specified 13 Bandit Lites supplied MAC 2000s for an early summer US tour.
