Dreamland an oasis in the Eqyptian desert
July 21, 1999
Dreamland is the world’s largest integrated development project, a new community emerging from the desert sands on the outskirts of Cairo. Martin Professional is part of the dream. Amac, Martin’s distributor in the Middle East, assisted Media International in the installation and provided Martin luminaires to Dreamland for architectural and outdoor theatre applications.
At Dream Park, the largest theme park in the Middle East covering an area of 150 acres, Media International supplied 4 RoboScan Pro 918s and 4 Punishers for the children’s theatre. A Magnum 2000 smoke machine adds to the atmosphere while control comes via Martin’s PC-based DMX controller, LightJockey. Two each of Mach Speakers’ M126s and two M182s provide clean crisp sound.
In Dream Park’s Legend World 6 Pro 918s, 4 Pal 1200 scanners, 6 Punishers and 2 Magnum 2000 smoke machines all run from a Martin Case Pro I controller were used at the Roman style amphitheatre where visitors can watch musical performances and plays. Four Mach M182 and 4 M126 speakers provide the sound.
Martin luminaires were also used to illuminate a waterfall that emerges from the park’s centerpiece, an artificial mountain topped with palm trees and surrounded by water, Dream boats and pavillions.
Just 8 kilometers from the towering Pyramids of Giza, Dreamland is located on 2000 acres of what was once desert, a glorious man-made oasis offering housing, a health resort, golf courses, shopping facilities including a Mega Mall, equestrian facilities, Dream Park - even schools, business parks, a hospital and a university!
Owned by the Bahgat Group and contracted by E. Com, Dreamland offers something unique for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of Cairo. Modern, clean, and meticulously planned to make life not only comfortable and convenient but fun, Dreamland represents the newly affluent’s desire for a better life.
