Freecat Bowling Alley in Berlin Making Bowling Fun

February 23, 2001

We first saw entertainment centers in America spicing up the conservative game of bowling with intelligent lighting a few years ago. Now European bowling centers are offering entertainment-bowling packages as well, attracting a whole new generation to the sport.

The term “strike” gets a whole new meaning at the Freecat Bowling Alley in Berlin which has installed a great deal of Martin lighting and Jem smoke gear.

A flash of multicolored lighting from 8 Martin MX-4s, 2 RoboScan Pro 518 scanners, 2 MiniMAC Profiles and 4 Raptors, along with atmospheric smoke from two Jem ZR22 smoke machines, greets every strike.  The system is controlled via the Martin ProScenium, a visual DMX-512 lighting control package.

Bowlers can even watch themselves on any one of 15 monitors or on a video screen. The bowling center also includes s a dining area and small discotheque.
