Jem Glaciator X-Stream Provides Fog Fright for “Area 51 - Alien Encounter”

Eventasia, LLC launched its Denver based event planning/design company with an exclusive Halloween attraction, “Area 51 - Alien Encounter, that included eerie heavy fog effects from a Jem Glaciator X-Stream. Direct from Roswell, New Mexico, the mysteries of the famed Area 51 were revealed at the high tech, haunted house attraction.

Eventasia retained nationally acclaimed and award winning Richter Scale Productions to construct and operate the 3D Halloween attraction. The experience was loosely based on the myths, facts and rumors surrounding the now cult chronicle of Area 51. Video clips, FBI memos, and surreal 3D sets combined to offer an engaging experience that excited and scared visitors.

Located in Edgewater, Colorado, the locale featured an old, abandoned army base, complete with a triage unit, helicopter and jeep in its set design. The 3D set and many of its components were enhanced with Richter Scale’s cutting edge entertainment technology, and delivered an exciting visceral experience together with a mind-altering journey rarely witnessed outside of major amusement parks.

Near the end of the attraction visitors exited a disorienting vortex tunnel to a dark outdoor scene before escaping to safety. In the room was a jeep and wrecked helicopter with nighttime low lying fog effect provided by a Jem Glaciator X-Stream. Working with green lights from underneath a raised deck and red searchlights, the fog broke up the light to create an eerie atmosphere. The attraction ran nightly from October 6th to October 31st and the Glaciator ran for 5 hours a night; and 8-10 hours each day of the weekend.

Included in an autopsy room in which aliens were being scanned on a translucent table were two MAC 550 profile spots. Positioned at a height of eight feet, the 550’s were used to project various colors and gobos down onto the scene.
