Keeping Hope Alive

Keeping Hope Alive

September 15, 2008

It was a spectacular and uplifting night of music and meaning, of faith and charity, and Martin was there helping to bring light to the message.

A Night of Hope with Joel Osteen made its stop in South Florida, which was just one appearance on a sold out tour that brought Osteen and his family through Canada, England, Northern Ireland and Israel. The goal: to provide outreach in the form of exciting worship and praise to those seeking an inspiring message.

Osteen, who is pastor at Lakewood Church, a non denominational house of worship located in Houston, Texas and the largest of its kind in the United States (over 40,000 weekly attendees as of 2007), succeeded his father, John Osteen in 1999 after only preaching once before and has garnered the respect of those in various communities and in the media.

The crowd packed Bank Atlantic Center stadium in Sunrise, Florida, to hear best selling author and Pastor Joel Osteen’s uplifting words and clarifying anecdotes.

Lighting Designer, Tom Stanziano turned to Martin to help create the vibrant atmosphere using 24 Martin Mac 700 Profiles, 18 Martin Mac 2k Washes, 6 Martin TW-1, 12 Martin Stage Bars (long).

“I chose these products because of their reliability,” said Tom, who admits that he was impressed with the optics, color saturation, and output.

The MAC 700 Profile is a compact, powerful fixture with an output and optical precision beyond its peers, the MAC 2000 Wash is the industry’s wash light of choice and offers an exceptionally powerful yet soft-edged beam. A 1200W short arc discharge lamp allows for brightness and two color wheels allow for versatility. The MAC TW1 is a powerful and silent tungsten wash light offering a motorized zoom and rich CMY color mixing. Martin’s Stagebar 54 is a compact, LED luminaire with a comprehensive color range. It has an all-in-one simplicity and a temperament perfect for tours like Pastor Osteen’s.

Singer/songwriter and Dove award winner, Cindy Cruse Ratcliff and the Lakewood band and ensemble brought words of affirmation and praise to the crowd amidst the effects of dynamic lighting design.

Martin Professional helps energize the worship experience, now and in the future, building partnerships that inspire educate and enable.
