Light Concert Serving Busy Venezuelan Lighting Market

January 28, 2005

One of Venezuela’s leading lighting rental companies, Caracas based Light Concert, specializes in lighting supply and lighting/effects design for an impressive list of clients.

That client list consists of major television studios, corporate events, major tours and special events across Venezuela, Central and South America, and even Miami. Light Concert’s Martin equipment is supplied through Martin’s Venezuelan representative, Audio Concept.

Light Concert maintains quite a stock of Martin lighting and throughout 2004 used some of that gear on events such as Festival De Nuevas Bandas – The Festival of New Bands – a national festival of rock, pop and electronic music held in Caracas and produced by Intermedios Show Design.

Lighting designer for the festival was Roberto Penso who used a Light Concert supplied rig of MAC 2000 Profiles, MAC 600 washlights and MAC 500 profile spots with atmospheric fog from Jem StageHazers and Martin Magnum Pro 2000s.

The festival ran two full days and required two days of set up by ten of Light Concerts technicians. Light Concert Crew Chief was David Ayala. The complex design included the rigging of a center circle truss suspended by a telescopic crane, the type normally used in the construction industry. Mounted on that center truss were 16 MAC 500s.

Miss Venezuela
Another important event for Light Concert in 2004 was Miss Venezuela, the 5th consecutive year that Light Concert has supplied Martin lighting for the pageant.

The show was broadcast on TV station Venevision and was produced by Joaquin Riviera. It involved complicated choreography and multiple scene and atmosphere changes, all on live TV! Automated lighting designer and programmer was David Ayala with Marcus Chourio of Venevision handling the photographic direction. The rider for the show included 16 MAC 2000 Profiles, 30 MAC 600 and 30 MAC 500, as well as Jem StageHazers.
