MAC 2000 Performance for Latest Incubus Tour
June 27, 2002
Progressive rock superstars Incubus are out this summer under a large MAC rig, touring in support of their new platinum album “Morning View” and selling out arenas across the US.
The MAC line-up includes 5 of Martin’s new framing and animation profile spots, the 1200 watt MAC 2000 Performance. Among its advanced features are a fully automated, micro-adjusting framing system and gobo animation module for special effects. Other MACs in the rig include 22 MAC 250+s, 12 MAC 300s, 12 MAC 2000 Profiles and 24 MAC 600s.
This is the third progressively larger tour leg for the band that began last year in theaters in the US. It was followed by a sold out tour of the UK and Europe. The tour is now back in the US.
The Bandit Lites supplied lighting system is centered around a large hinged “sorta-circle”. Designed by Joe Paradise and Dizzy Gosnell, the extensive Martin moving light package suits the music amazingly in the hands of Paradise. Paradise has been with the tour through all three legs and has a close working relationship with the band who are involved in the look of the lighting design.
The tour is set to play in the US this summer before once again returning to the UK.
