MAC 550 A Winner on Swiss Television

Martin’s fully loaded MAC 550 profile spot is doing its part to secure high TV ratings on Swiss television.

Some 26 MAC 550s, which include as standard such TV-friendly features as electronic ballast and color correction filters, sees duty on Swiss channel SF DRS’s latest quiz show Deal or no Deal. First broadcast on September 1st, Deal or No Deal is a fast paced quiz show that offers contestants the chance to win a large cash prize through a combination of general knowledge and good fortune.

The MAC 550s were supplied to the station by Winkler Veranstaltungstechnik through Martin’s Swiss representative ASL Electronic AG/SA. Truss mounted over the candidates, the fully loaded fixture features unprecedented brightness for a 400W luminaire and houses dual color and dual gobo wheels, plus a dynamic gobo animation system for a huge variety of effect possibilities. Lighting design and operation for Deal or No Deal is by Matthias Kern (tpc zürich ag) who also uses 24 MAC 250 Entour and 10 MAC 2000 Profile alongside the 550s.

MAC 550s also saw service on September 18th when Miss Switzerland was crowned beneath a Martin lighting rig that included 26 MAC 550, 10 MAC 2000 Performance, 2 MAC 2000 Profile II and 17 MAC 2000 Wash. Again, lighting design and operation was by Matthias Kern who used the 550s for everything from adding color to set and scenery elements to pattern projection onto the stage itself. Winkler delivered the new MAC 550s to the studio for this show as well, supplied through ASL Electronic.
