January 24, 2006
World famous ABBA tribute band Björn Again was established in Melbourne, Australia in 1988 by Rod Leissle and have gone on to become the most successful tribute band of all time. They are currently in their 15th year, having performed over 3000 live shows in over 60 countries worldwide. They have just finished a 9 week, 44 show UK tour that ran from October to December.
Björn Again’s tour manager/production manager/lighting designer Andrew Keightley has been extremely pleased with the MAC 700 Profiles he specified for the tour. MAC 700s were placed in the front truss and used for gobo projection, color washing and solo pick ups. Keightley comments, “I chose the MAC 700 Profiles for their animation wheel. I was extremely pleased with their reliability and ease of use.”
Entec Sound and Light supplied the lighting gear and provided lighting technicians John Lahiffe and Leigh Yeomans for the tour. Fixtures included MAC 700 Profiles and MAC 600 washlights.
As Keightley talked about the MAC 700s, he commented about the accuracy and speed of response to the cue triggers that the MAC 700 gave him. Overall, Keightley’s conclusion about the MAC 700’s performance was, “superb reliability and flexibility.”
