Martin on tour with the French group Louise Attaque
October 03, 2000
The group performed in classic venues in places such as Marseille, Lyon, Strasbourg and of course, Paris. Twenty or so Martin moving heads and generic lights were programmed for various scenes including guests performances in the first part of the concert. During the more than three hour show 6 MAC 600’s, 10 MAC 500’s, 4 MAC 250’s and 2 RoboColor Pro 400’s provided a night mood of black satin and sharp contrasts often reminiscent of the Breton sea-side. A continuous flow of panning MAC 500’s conjured up thoughts of the revolving lights of the coastal lighthouses.
Last April, Louise Attaque gave three concerts in a well-known Parisian venue, La Cigale, then, in the beginning of June, five performances in the illustrious Olympia, the legendary concert hall of the stars. On both occasions, the venues were seething with a youthful and passionate audience.
David Launay operated the moving heads using a Martin Case Pro 1 console, following the creation of Lighting Designer Dominique Bourges. Gobo patterns and colors followed the tempo of the music and well known such as Les nuits parisiennes, La brume and many others. From upstage, hung on totems or placed on the floor, the moving heads washed the artists and the frenzied audience, as the entire venue, floors, walls and technical platforms trembled underfoot. The result was stunning! Lighting was supplied by Audiolite, the French company located in Brittany, through Martin France.
