Martin Wireless Solution for Croatian Club
May 25, 2005
Saturnus Disco in Croatia offers appearances by well-known DJs, as well as other types of entertainment such as fashion shows. The large club is owned by the company Turisthotel d.o.o. and is located in the popular tourist village of Zaton along the beautiful Adriatic Coast.
Perhaps Zaton is not the most obvious spot to find the latest in wireless technology, but several months ago Martin’s Croatian distributor Disco Sistemi made the first wireless DMX connection in Croatia using the Martin Wireless DMX 512 Pro Diversity system.
The DMX receiver is situated above the club’s dance floor on a five meter wide, 360 degree rotating platform on which sits 6 MAC 500 profile spots. The platform can be raised to a height of 8 meters over the dance floor and then lowered again. Imagine if you will, not only are the Martin lights rotating, they are being raised and lowered. Combine that with the pan and tilt of the fixtures themselves and you have a dizzying array of lighting effects.
Such movement is not conducive to meters and meters of cabling however. Therefore Disco Sistemi turned to a Martin WDMX solution, which allowed them to quickly and easily set up and run the system. The Martin Wireless DMX system has saved on what could easily have been a mess of tangled cables, allowed the club to use moving head technology in a new and unique way, and reportedly works very well.
Additional lighting at Saturnus provided by Disco Sistemi includes 12 RoboScan Pro 1220s, 6 Wizard effect lights, 4 Atomic strobes and conventional lighting, along with 4 Jem 24/7 Hazers, all controlled by a Martin LightJockey.
