NAB 2002 a Showcase for Martin Gear

The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) exhibition is possibly the world’s largest electronic media show, a showcase for the latest media based technology. Held in Las Vegas from April 7-11, NAB 2002 was also a showcase for Martin lighting equipment.

General session meetings featured 74 MAC 2000 and 14 MAC 500 profile fixtures supplied by Fourth Phase and PPE with lighting design by Billy Brennan and programming by Sean Gaurino.
Utilizing a fully automated lighting design at this year’s show, Billy showed fully the capabilities of what Martin products can do for television and broadcasting professionals. He used MAC 2000s as key light for video, as well as theatrical light for the stage and the event. He commented, "Industrial and corporate events are exactly what the versatility of the MACs is ideal for. It makes my job easier and costs the client less in the long run when they decide to use automated lighting instead of conventional fixtures. The savings in labor, set up and maintenance during the event pays for itself and the production value is much higher."

Full Sail
Exhibiting at the show, Full Sail, a US school of entertainment technology, featured Martin products on their demo truck as well as Mach speakers. Over 2,000 attendees walked through the truck during the 4 day show and got a small glimpse of what Full Sail can offer students in real world education. Full Sail teaches a course in Show Production in which students learn how to use and program Martin products.

MACs used throughout show

Other exhibits on the show floor featured Martin products as well including MAC 2000s on the Snell & Wilcox, Quantel and PSI booths. Other MAC series products were used on the Media 100 booth with lighting supply by High Output, Inc of Boston. MACs were key elements of the impressive booth designs proving that designers and production companies continue to put their trust in Martin for their corporate presentations. Other companies supplying booths at this year’s NAB were Fourth Phase, 4 Wall and Oasis Stage Werks.
