Phantom Impression

July 27, 2004

On May 21st a grand and impressive production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical Phantom of the Opera took place at Vingis Park in Vilnius, Lithuania. The show involved production professionals from all three Baltic States with Martin’s Lithuanian distributor Muzikos Ekspresas providing a large MAC rig for the milestone performance.

Some 12 MAC 2000 Profile, 18 MAC 600 washlights, 12 MAC 250 profile spots, 12 Atomic 3000 strobes and 20 RoboColor Pro 400 color changers along with Pani projectors were the key tools that helped to create impressive and often emotionally powerful scenographics.

A Jem Roadie X-Stream atmospheric effects generator was used to screen the stage in fog while also providing an ideal lighting projection canopy. Light artist and lighting designer Aurimas Vosylius was reportedly quite satisfied with the advantages of the Martin equipment.

Such theatrical stars as West End performer James Graeme, West End and Royal Theatre performer Katrina Merfi, and Sweden’s Per Engstrom helped make the show special not only in Lithuania, but in all the Baltic States.
