Results Good for Limp Bizkit European Tour 2004
July 01, 2004
Earlier in the year one of the most influential bands on the heavy music scene, Limp Bizkit, toured Europe in support of its latest album, "Results May Vary." It turns out however the results were very good.
Lighting Designer for the tour was Bryan Hartley (www.bryanhartley.com) who has a host of top lighting designs under his belt, the most recent being the current Lenny Kravitz and Kiss tours.
It was Bryan’s first time LDing for Limp Bizkit and he found the experience a positive one. “They were great guys to deal with,” he stated. “I went in with a simple approach and loved doing their show. It’s great music.”
Bryan created a striking show using a MAC rig as aggressive as the rockers themselves. Bryan speced a rig of 28 MAC 2000 Profiles, 28 MAC 2000 Wash, 22 Atomic 3000 strobes, 12 Molefays with Mole changers and 16 Par Cans with color changers. A WholeHog II was used for control. Lighting company was Neg Earth Lights of the UK.
“Some of the timing cues for lighting were brilliant,” Bryan commented. “We used a straight front truss, a straight mid truss, and a “U” shaped upstage truss with different sized verticals. We hung everything in back and on the mid and down stage. On the back verticals they hung straight up and down so it filled up the whole stage. Fred (Limp Bizkit lead man Fred Durst) had a couple of suggestions and it all came out good.”
Despite rumors of a possible split, Limp Bizkit keeps on rocking with plans for a new album and more show dates to come.
