Ritz Refurb
December 15, 2003
Located 20 kilometers from Copenhagen in the coastal town of Køge, Ritz is a large 1200 capacity club with a decade of successful clubbing under its belt. In order to secure another ten years of good times, Ritz recently underwent a major refurbishment that included a Martin lighting system.
Ritz features dual bars surrounding a dominating central dance space with a side stage available for live performances. Accentuated by color changing light, the décor is simple yet stylish and includes fun elements like neon-illuminated glass dividing walls and a New York themed bar complete with a Statue of Liberty.
Above the large dance area hangs a large Eurotruss illuminated from the inside with Martin MAC 250 profile spots and Wizard effect lights. Martin Atomic 3000 strobes are also located in the dance floor truss. The Wizard cluster is central to the dance floor with a single head from a Jem Club Smoke System emerging from its middle. The other three smoke heads are placed throughout the truss. A series of dance pods are illuminated from beneath by Martin Ego 01 flower effects.
The stage lighting consists of MX-10 scanners and conventionals with light from the dance floor 250s also reaching the stage area. Lighting control is from a PC-based Martin LightJockey. All Martin equipment was supplied by Martin Professional Scandinavia with lighting design by Frank Ovesen.
