Six Jem Roadie X-Streams used for Universal’s Halloween Horror Night
January 19, 2001
Nobody celebrates terror quite the way Universal Studios does in Orlando, Florida. And no smoke machine delivers atmosphere-generating fog quite the way the Jem Roadie X-Stream does.
In celebration of its tenth straight year of providing the most extreme Halloween fright night around, City Walk at Universal Studios incorporated six Jem Roadies to blanket the popular walk in a shroud of mystical high density fog. City Walk, a 30-acre dining, shopping, club and live-entertainment venue area within the Universal Studios park. The 6 Roadie X-Streams were supplied through Martin distributor SEAL.
Equipped with a high output fan and continuous high output projection, the Jem Roadies’ X-Stream airflow system ensured long throw smoke projection to the ghostly guests for 19 straight nights in October. Universal themselves described the experience as ”pushing guests beyond the edge of fear.” in a ”ghoulishly entertaining environment.”
This year’s Halloween Horror Nights included all new haunted mazes, "live" entertainment, a Festival of the Dead parade, and a haunted backlot complete with 9-foot monsters and more. Many of Universals most popular rides were also transformed into terror attractions.
