The Kress, Hollywood, USA

Referred to as “the next Hollywood landmark”, The Kress is an upscale venue equipped with a basement level lounge that offers live entertainment, fine dining and a large dance floor. An exclusive rooftop spot outfitted with cabanas and a 360 degree view of Los Angeles boasts the utmost in luxury. Offering guests stunning views of Hollywood Boulevard at night, The Kress’ upper most level hosts exclusive private parties catered to the rich and renowned.

Both a hot and cool place to be, The Kress brags a unique setting to say the least.

Perfectly accenting the original 1930’s pan-Asian atmosphere is a plethora of Martin fixtures and support gear, carefully chosen to bring even more dynamism to the venue. The only lit rooftop in Hollywood to be city approved, The Kress makes a statement like no other club around.

Helping to enhance the awe-inspiring skyline are (8) Atomic 3000 DMX™ strobes with Atomic Colors™ scrollers, (4) Wizard Extreme™ and (4) MX-10 Extreme™ effect lights, (16) SCX 700™ scanners, (14) smartMAC™ moving heads and (16) Exterior 200™ color changers. Lighting control is from (2) LightJockey 2™ with (3) Jem ZR24/7 Hazer™ used for atmospheric effect.

“I chose these products because they’re sophisticated and bullet-proof,” said Lighting Designer and Programmer Adrian De Pamphilis of FYXX Entertainment. “We don’t have to worry about replacing lamps for the next few years.”

De Pamphilis speaks of Martin’s reputation for producing tough and easily maintainable products.

“Basically, I wanted to use products that weren’t going to give problems,” said De Pamphilis. “That’s why we used Martin equipment. They’re reliable.”

De Pamphilis’ choice paid off. The outcome is nothing short of a masterpiece that keeps guest after guest awe-struck every night.

“Michael Viscuso, the owner, made it clear that he wanted to go all out with this venue- and so we did. We created something that you don’t see anywhere.”

The environment speaks for itself. There is something surreal about it. The use of products are so well unified that reviews of the club’s ambience are nothing but impressive.

“They look like a million dollars-just gorgeous,” De Pamphilis says of the products. “Everyone who comes up to the rooftop mentions how beautiful the atmosphere is. We definitely created that ‘wow factor.’”

Aside from product durability and aura, De Pamphilis has also taken advantage of the opportunities that lie in using a gobo-outfitted product like smartMAC™. “In our regular business, we’ve sold a lot of smartMAC’s,” he adds. “It takes less than 30 seconds to change a gobo which is an added plus. Selling custom gobos to clients generates revenue for the club and offers branding opportunities.”

While De Pamphilis has used Martin products to light up other nightclubs during his career, he is especially optimistic about future endeavors and hints that an upcoming venue in Southern California is going to be just as inspiring. “It’s amazing,” he said.

We will be there.
