Tokyo Motor Show 2005
January 05, 2006
The Japanese Automobile Manufacturers Association held their 39th Tokyo Motor Show - Passenger Cars & Motorcycles - at the Makuhari Messe complex in Makuhari, Chiba City from October 21st to November 6th. The theme of this year's show was "Driving Tomorrow! - from Tokyo" with over 1.5 million visitors taking in the sights and sounds of the auto industry’s most advanced technologies and designs. Some 79 world premiere vehicles and 120 Japanese premieres were on display.
Motor shows mean prodigious amounts of lighting, and this year’s Tokyo Motor Show with its 40,000m² of space was no exception. Countless numbers of lighting fixtures were incorporated into exhibits from 200+ companies including 264 Martin lights for exhibits by Toyota, Mazda, Mitsubishi Motors, Volkswagen, and many others.
At the Toyota exhibit MAC 2000 Performance's and Alien 02 color changers were used for color washes and animation effects – the Performance fixtures painted silver or white to match the ceiling, truss, and walls and the Alien O2’s painted black to blend with adjacent black walls and truss.
Mazda, Daihatsu, Honda and Volkswagen exhibits all incorporated MAC 2000 Profiles while the Mazda stand also used MAC 2000 Wash and Atomic 3000 strobes for attention grabbing stage lighting effects. Mitsubishi and Suzuki added color to their shows using MAC 300 washlights, MAC 500E profile spots and MAC 600E washlights.
