"Total Club Supplier" install at Charleston's Avalon Club

September 12, 2001

Located in the heart of downtown Charleston, South Carolina, Avalon´s décor reflects an alternative-lifestyle. This Gothic-designed, industrial dance club features nightly dance music from DJ David Smith, cabaret shows and live featured acts, all benefiting from a top quality Mach speaker system.

Mach distributor PDA handled the installation from beginning to end. PDA designed the sound system using top-boxes and subs from the Mach Installation Series; four M154i two-way medium throw top boxes and five M82i two-way near field top boxes combine with two M152i bandpass subwoofers to produce crisp yet powerful sound for the dance floor and various live acts.

In the DJ booth, DJ David Smith had PDA bring in two Mach TX112 monitor speakers, as well as Ortofon needles. Martin lighting is abundant throughout the club with PDA installing four Martin CX-4 color changers, eight MX-4 scanners, two MiniMAC Profiles, four Punishers and a Jem Magnum 2000 fog machine for atmospheric effects. A Martin LightJockey and 2532 Direct Access controller handles all moving light fixtures.
