Universale Show Risto Bar

To say that Universale Show Risto Bar in Florence offers a new concept in movie going would be an understatement. Where else can you see a classic movie, enjoy an unforgettable meal and then dance the night away, all in the same room?

Based on the Universal Historical Cinema in Florence, Universale Show Risto Bar entertains customers with a variety of music and video clips from famous films of the past. The movie clips are edited with sophisticated digital equipment as if they were sequences in real time.

Sprawling over 1,500 square meters on two levels, with a balcony restaurant, live entertainment area and discotheque, Universale uses a surprisingly few number of Martin automated fixtures to create an aesthetically balanced and architecturally effective space. In fact, Martin fixtures are the only lights used to create the luminous environment.

MAC 300 wash lights illuminate large Japanese style lanterns positioned on each side of a large cinematic screen while MAC 250 profile spots and MAC 300s hang from a motorized truss, a versatile set up which appears and disappears according to need. Additionally, twelve Mach M82 subwoofer speakers provide top quality, high output sound.

Lighting control comes via Martin LightJockey and 2518 controllers while a Jem StageHazer adds atmospheric effect haze and mid-air visual enhancement. This unique installation was completed by Acoustic Works with lighting design by Gino Passarella.
