Vortex Lighting takes lighting to a higher degree at British universities
January 31, 2001
Vortex has supplied Martin lighting for Student Unions at Dundee and Loughborough in England. Additional installation work was completed at The University of Newcastle, The University of Northumbria, and The University of Sunderland, together with several other venues. According to Graeme Sewell, Martin Professional and Jem products were specified for their functionality, reliability and competitive prices.
The newly refurbished Reds Bar at the University of Northumbria Student Union includes a new rig designed and installed by Vortex with 2 Martin SynchroZaps, 8 Martin MX-4s, 8 Martin MiniMAC Profiles and 12 MiniMAC Wash units. A Jem StageHazer is used to enhance the lighting while a Martin 2510 replay unit, programmed via Martin’s LightJockey software, provides control.
In addition to the above, University of Northumbria Student Union purchased 8 Martin RoboScan 918s, 4 MAC 300s and 2 MAC 250s to add to the existing rig in their ballroom area. Control is provided by the club version of Light Jockey, Martin´s PC based package.
