WholeLottaMetal Rock with Martin MAC 550

Featuring classic hits from bands like Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, and Guns ‘n Roses to name but a few, UK group WholeLottaMetal take fans back to a timeless era in rock music.

With three remarkable singers, including Ex-Black Sabbath frontman Tony Martin, and an awesome band of experienced professionals, WholeLottaMetal completed a successful 2004 tour. The band is utilized Ad Lib Audio for the lighting and main audio system.

The main light show consisted of in-house par cans and MAC 550 moving heads. “As anyone who saw the show in 2004 will testify, the array of effects and colors generated by the MAC 550s is second to none,” states WholeLottaMetal guitarist Dave Bishop (who also happens to be a Martin main dealer - Solo Lighting & Sound Ltd of Nottingham and Dek One of Sheffield). “The brightness of the units and their complete flexibility to adapt most colors and gobos to create a stunning backdrop to the stage show is exceptional.”

Positioned on purpose built trussing towers above the guitar stacks and around the drum riser, the 550s were used to create ambient moods and scenes for ballads while stronger colors and gobos, along with movement and strobe effects, were used for the more energetic numbers. “The show begins with an intro CD with the 550s providing a dramatic light entrance,” Dave explains. “For one song the singer stood at the back of the stage above the drum riser and the 550s were used as a followspot to great effect.”
