Cascades of color in Holmen, Sweden

Through a contract with Norrköping County, Lighting Designer Michael Hallbert was granted permission to create a unique lighting display by illuminating this magical waterfall using Martin Exterior 600 luminaires.

Oscar Lighting of Sweden supplied no less than 14 Exteriors for the project which were installed along the entire width of the waterfall. Michael created an awe-inspiring lighting display, water and light meeting to create a living, ever-changing piece of art.

Using the Exterior 600’s CMY color mixing feature, Michael was able to project a variable rainbow of color onto the water’s surface, subtly and smoothly changing shades and hues. The Exterior’s 575W MSD light source is long lasting and, as this project shows, powerful enough to light up a façade from a distance of 50 meters.

All lighting was controlled by the Martin ProScenium, a Windows-based visual DMX-512 lighting control package.
