Latin Quarter™ at Universal City Walk

City Walk at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida is a fun-filled fantasy downtown area, a city street where every store and restaurant has been created in that fun, family-oriented Orlando style. Part theme park, part movie set, and always inviting, City Walk is loaded with an assortment of themed restaurants, clubs and retail stores.

One of the most popular is Latin Quarter, a restaurant/nightclub featuring the culture and cuisine of Latin America. Latin Quarter is not just a place to grab a bite to eat however. In typical Orlando-esque speech, Latin Quarter describes themselves as “a festive dining and dancing interactive adventure.”

Decorated with a number of Latin elements from giant Toltecs to authentic copies of Aztec, Inca, Maya ruins, Latin Quarter is perhaps best known for its music and dance. Latin Quarter has installed a number of Martin Professional automated lights to help highlight the various dance shows and live bands that perform on stage.

With the Andes Mountains as a backdrop, the venue has recently installed 4 MiniMAC Wash luminaires on stage, 2 front stage and 2 side stage, along with 4 MiniMAC profile spots, 2 backstage and 2 used for front lighting. Two MAC 250+, 2 RoboColor Pro 400’s and 2 RoboScan 812 scanners provide side stage lighting. Four Jem ZR 12AL smoke machines are used to add atmosphere including the misty fog of a Latin American jungle.

Latin entertainment. Includes Salsa, Tango, Flamenco and Samba dancing, including dance lessons if you dare, and various Latin-inspired bands playing Salsa Merenque, Mariachi and Latin Rock numbers as well as their own 13-piece orchestra. Latin Quarter also houses an art gallery, retail store and theater for Latin artists.
