MACs, Maxxyz for Tokyo Girls Collection ’07

June 21, 2007

The biggest E-commerce fashion festival in Japan, Tokyo Girls Collection 2007 by girlswalker.com was held in Yokohama Arena on March 3rd, the same day the traditional “Hinamatsuri” (Girls Festival) is celebrated across the country.

Some 70 popular Japanese models and 25 domestic brands attracted a crowd of 21,900 young girls all of whom were able to instantly purchase the modeled fashions via an on-line system working simultaneously with their mobile phones.

While the crowd cheered wildly, enthusiastically securing their favorite garments from their fingertips, overhead and on stage dazzled an impressive Martin rig of 186 MAC 500 profile spots. Positioned around the perimeter of a cross-shaped runway and hanging from a similarly shaped truss, synchronized colored effects from the MACs played complement to models and apparel.

On a stage behind the runway 12 MAC 2000 Profiles and 12 MAC 2000 Washes gave life to several exciting live performances that took place in between fashion shows. At the back of the stage 12 Atomic 3000 strobes with Atomic Colors scrollers gave additional color accent to the show. Lighting control was from a Martin Maxxyz console. Lighting vendor was M-Tech Style, Inc. with lighting supplied through Martin Professional Japan.
