Located in the city of Burgos in northern Spain is dmode Club, a cozy, 200 m2 venue recently transformed with a big city lighting design courtesy of Luis Enrique Heras of SELTRON Sonido Profesional S.L.
“The main requirements of the lighting for the space were innovation and design,” states Luis, who was responsible for lighting design and project management for the space.
Innovation and design is what Martin lighting gear is all about.
Luis chose a combination of high performance Martin MAC 250 Krypton moving heads and Martin LC Series LED panels, whose dual placement across the club’s ceiling and wall allows decorative graphic elements to complement each other from two different positions.
The LC Series, an easy-to-assemble, modular system of LED panels for displaying video and images, closely integrates light and video and is increasingly being used as a creative, architectural design feature.
“The club wanted a customized lighting solution and the spectacular lighting equipment and video panels were designed to achieve comprehensive and dynamic lighting throughout the entire area,” Luis states. “The main features we’ve found with the Martin fixtures are vanguardism and reliability.”
The club’s new lighting system is controlled via a PC-based Martin LightJockey with LED graphics relayed from a Martin Maxedia PRO™ media server. Maxedia, which includes a large library of media clips, still images and animations, allows for simple media composing and playback without the need for a complex lighting controller.
The Martin gear for dmode was supplied locally by SELTRON through Martin’s Spanish distributor Ecler. Installation was completed in December 2008.
“The Martin equipment has provided a highly sophisticated, reliable and innovative solution,” Luis concludes. “One that could exist in any of the best clubs in the world.”
