Terra Mítica Theme Park

November 19, 2002

Two-year-old Terra Mítica theme park is a popular entertainment facility dedicated to the lost civilizations of the Mediterranean. Located in Alicante, Spain it was designed so that visitors can revive the myths and legends of the cultures that populated the area.

Terra Mítica is divided into five zones: Egypt, Greece, Rome, Iberia, and The Islands where you’ll find the attraction Ulysses’ Rescue, an audiovisual tour in which visitors help decide how to rescue the famed Hellenic hero.

Spanish production company Lukbe 2000 Producciones was involved in the artistic design, audiovisual scenarios, electrical engineering, control systems and marketing of several attractions and delivered a host of equipment including Martin effect lighting and Jem smoke effects.

For Ulysses’ Rescue, Lukbe 2000 created nine different scenarios including a port with waterfalls. Martin MAC 250s and Pal 1200s provide the synchronized lighting effects. All Martin lighting (and much more) was supplied through Martin’s Spanish distributor Ecler.

Other Martin products can also be found at Terra Mítica including MAC 2000s and Jem ZR 33 smoke machines at Pica Picae, a self-service buffet with music and a dance show, and MiniMAC Profiles and Jem StageHazers at “El Secreto de la Piramide”.
