The Fine Taste of Bulgarian Cacao

Cacao (Bulgarian for "cocoa") is the name of the latest and most fashionable dance club in Sofia, Bulgaria. But the unusual thing about Cacao is its location - a newly built office building in one of Sofia´s most fashionable districts. But don’t mistake a night out at Cacao’s for a Monday morning trip to work. You may feel like you’re entering the office but the illusion quickly vanishes as soon as you´re inside.

The club occupies two levels, each with its own individual atmosphere. The lower is rather conventionally lit with a relatively relaxed feel while the upper is the place where things really happen. Here, with its multiple smaller dance floors and various bars, the real dance club feel literally comes to light with a barrage of color and gobo sweeps across the floor and walls.

Cacao’s impressive list of Martin lighting includes multiple LightJockey and 2518 controlled effects from RoboColor Pro 400s, CX-4s, MAC 250s, MiniMACs, Pro-518s, MX-4s, Atomic 3000s and Jem smoke and haze effects. ProTechnica of Bulgaria created the lighting design and provided all Martin fixtures.

Since its opening, Cacao Dance Club has turned into the place-to-be, attracting the elite of clubbers in Sofia, as well as many tourists visiting the city.
