TrackPod on the spot at corporate and government events
September 19, 2000
Rental company Sound and Production Support Services through Phlippo Showlights of Belgium supplied Martin’s automated TrackPod tracking system for two important events.
Earlier this year the ING group held a conference on e-business and IT structure, the ING IT 2000 Conference, at the Radisson SAS Hotel and Chateau de la Hulpe in Brussels.
The TrackPod automated tracking system was used to control 24 automated lighting fixtures at the event, each spot simultaneously following the speaker on the 21 x 13 meter stage.
The TrackPod was positioned approximately 6 meters from the stage, which had a trim height of only 3.5 meters. Despite the very low ceiling trim and very little space between the Trackpod and the performers, the system performed on the spot each and every time.
Spectacular interactive followspot effects stunned both crowd and artists at the second event, the European Parliament Open Days 2000, which gives the general public a chance to glimpse the inner workings of European government in Brussels..
A crowd of 16,000 attended the May event, which was full of various shows and lighting displays. The TrackPod was used to highlight both bands and speakers, controlling 12 automated lighting fixtures to intersect on a performer. The TrackPod was placed approximately 14 meters from the 20 x 12 meter stage. Lighting Designer for both shows was Marc Bauwens.
